Spreadsheet correction requests

Hi all, this year, we have a spreadsheet (two spreadsheets, actually: one for searching and one with the original data) that lists out all of the fandoms each participant has requested in the past. Putting together this spreadsheet was a mix of automated and manual effort, both of which introduce errors in their own way.

Please comment here if you notice any issues with your data in the spreadsheet, such as:
- Your username is spelled wrong.
- The links associated with your sign-up go to the wrong place or are broken.
- The list of fandoms associated with your username just looks totally wrong.
- The list of fandoms associated with your username is largely correct but you would like to add or remove some fandoms from the list.

If adding/removing fandoms, please give me a list with one fandom on each line.

Please note that extracting all the fandoms someone has ever requested is easy/trivial for me to do, but manually cleaning up fandom names to remove nearby variations is difficult and time-consuming, so I have not done this and it may not be practical for me to do much fandom name clean-up. When searching, I recommend using the text entry search to hit as many variations on a fandom name as possible and get around the issue of fandom name variations. However, if you think there is a severe issue with the fandom names that affects searching, feel free to bring it up here.

For some reason three signup titles sneaked into my fandom list and the general fandom list (I have no idea which exchange they came from anymore):
be silly/be introspective/be angsty/have fun! :) [Death edition]

be silly/be introspective/be angsty/have fun! :) [these three dorks edition]

So they should probably be removed, considering they're not fandoms. Otherwise, it looks perfect! :)

Oh thank you for catching that! There was one exchange where there were no fandoms listed, so my scraper extracted request titles instead, which were in the spot fandoms usually end up in. I tried to manually delete them when that happened but some got through. It should be fixed now!

Hello! Is this the place to ask for fandoms I no longer want works for to be removed? If so, I (embraidery) would no longer like to receive works for Jewish Scripture & Legend and Creator's Choice of Fandom, and Shadow and Bone (TV). Thanks!

Hi! Seconding the thanks for your hard work for this event 🙇‍♂️!

I'm Samifer and I'd like, if possible, to have the following fandoms removed from my list:
- Creator's Choice of Fandom
- Ass Fandom*
- Internet & Social Media (Anthropomorphic)
- 原神 | Genshin Impact (Video Game)
- Water (Fandom)*
- pathetic wet cat men (can be crying)*

* These are Birthday Bash "joke" fandoms that can probably also be removed from the fandoms list, period. Your call though!

Removed these from your fandoms list. I'll consider removing Birthday Bash fandoms in general but for now, I just removed these from your list. I couldn't find a Creator's Choice of Fandom in your list but I removed "Creator's Choice of Previously Requested Fandom" (it is not particularly useful for this challenge anyway).

Thank you! I think I did mean "Creator's Choice of Previously Requested Fandom" but didn't realize that was the one that was in... (You're right that it's not useful for this challenge either way.)

I recently changed my Ao3 username, and if possible it would be great to combine my old sign-up as VTsuion with my new sign-up as VThinksOn.

Hi, I'm not sure if there's an easy way to combine the sign-ups, at least in the spreadsheet, because it looks like some requests are searchable under VTsuion and some are searchable under VThinksOn (i.e. the requests are not combined in the Auto AO3 App unless the exchanges get rescraped). Both the VTSuion and VThinksOn rows in the spreadsheet link to your latest sign-up (this one), though, so they are "combined" in that sense and hopefully treaters will follow up on those links and end up in the right place. I've seen people who have requests split across old and new versions of their username specify in their sign-up comment that they want gifts gifted to the new username, so that might also help?

But yeah, I think I need to keep both rows in the spreadsheet to help people find your full history of requests, unless you're just not interested in the VTsuion requests anymore. They unfortunately ended up in two different places but hopefully people will be able to find the right sign-up in either case. Let me know if you have any other questions about this!

Would it work to have two rows with the username listed as VThinksOn - one that has a link to my old requests and one that has a link to my new requests? Likewise for fandoms, would it be possible to just change the username to VThinksOn in the rows currently listed under VTsuion?

Yes, I think it should be possible to do that. If someone is specifically looking for VTsuion in the spreadsheet, it might be a bit harder for them to tell you've signed up under VThinksOn (but not impossible), but if that's OK, I can go ahead and switch all the username fields to VThinksOn. (There might be duplicates, which I will clean up at the end of this round.)

Hi! There are a few fandoms in my list that are part of a current exchange (and the only exchange I've requested them in so far) and can be deleted.

-Dune (Movies - Villeneuve)
-Fiddler on the Roof (1971)
-The Artful Dodger (TV 2023)
-The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (TV)

Also, not sure if it matters, but there are listings for "Crossover Fandom" and "crossover - Fandom" that could probably be merged, if that's possible.

Thank you, I've removed those ones now.

For the crossover fandom tags, I'm still not sure what to do about duplicates to fandom names like that. For now, I'm leaving them all in, as some people might have signed up to different events that used different versions of that tag, and so each tag alone might not pick up everyone who is requesting crossovers. But in the future, ideally, it would be good if I could standardize the fandom names and automatically convert the variations into the standard name. I'll look into it next time!
